Sturdy Bento Boxes
Does anyone have any recommendations for a sturdy bento box that can take a beating? I'm a clumsy college student that drops things a lot and the bento I have currently is too small and pops open even if you jostle it gently. A chart I read said I'd need one that was at least 600 ml.

I've looked through sites but it's hard to tell. D:

Does it matter if it's plastic? metal? wood?

Check out J-list and CDJapan for a mixture of plastic/wood/metal.

Bentos don't have to limited to authentic containers. You can use generic tubaware and use sectional dividers. I found a few generic, hard plastic bentos in my local asian market for just under $5.

I guess plastic would be best. Wood sounds like it would break if I dropped it. I'll check those sites.

Unfortunately my Asian market only sells food and the nearest big one is 50 miles away :(

I would say a tiffin box would be a good bet. Can't go wrong with metal, lol!! And if it takes dings and dents, it just adds to the character of it (especially it you're into steampunk stuff!)

It's got 4 closures and the 3 tiers are decently sized. You'll definitely have enough for a nice and hearty lunch, or depending on how much you eat, you can make some to share!
